Diaper rash treatment and prevention

Submitted by Annette

Before bedtime fill the tub with luke warm water. Take a worn-out old sock and fill it with oatmeal (not instant). Knot the sock so it can be opened, emptied and used again. Place sock in water for a min. or two before the child. Squeeze it a few times to extract the oatmeal.

Let the baby sit in the water for a few min. NO SOAP! The sock is safe enough for the baby to amuse themselves with and heal the diaper rash. In between baths keep baby as dry as possible with A&D ointment topped with baby powder. (cornstarch can cause an infection due to bacteria that grows in the food.)
