Baking. Clean up quick after rolling out cookies or pastry

Whist baking you find that your recipe calls for you to roll out your mixture, I am sure you are aware of the mess that is left over afterwards. Here are a couple of tips to help you quickly deal with that mess:

  • If you have rolled out cookies, pastry or anything similar using dough on the counter try using a spatula to scrape up the dough left over when you are done. This is so much faster and easier than trying to wash off the counter.

  • When you are rolling pie crust and have it on your counter or on your rolling pin - rubbing salt over the area where the pie crust is will loosen and help get all the pie crust off fast.
