Heinz vinegar to heal bruises...

Submitted by Don

Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and apply it to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness and speeds up the healing process.

vinegar for bruises Comments By: steve williams on 2010-04-01
my son suffered a black eye playing softball and we applied a cold pack and white vinegar on and off for the first 24 hrs. the ice helped keep the swelling down and the vinegar may have helped the bruise I dont know because i had no control group. i read that orajel might also help and i tried it. overnight the bruise was reduced by about 50% in my estimation after applying the orajel twice, once in the morning and once before bed-time. Again, I cant say that the "maximum strength orajel" in fact worked because of time factor, natural healing, young age,13,of my son, the previous application of cold pack and white vinegar. But if the need ever rises again I will personally use the orajel again.
