Use Tiger Balm for an earache

Submitted by Khaila Derrington

For an ear ache put a small amount of "Tiger Balm" on a q-tip and gently insert into ear and swab.

I strongly reccomend no one do this! Tiger Balm is mentholated and it's burning my inner ear at this very moment.

Thanks for adding misery to misery!

Camphor in Tiger Balm Comments By: Anon on 2009-07-24
This sounds like a bad plan to me - Camphor is mildly toxic and while it works well on external parts of the body, great care must be taken using it internally as it can bring on seizures... And the menthol would hurt if the ear is infected.
If you do try it, use the specially designed safety Qtips so you don't push any contaminants too far in or damage your ear canal.

No VICKS OR TIGER BALM Comments By: Larry on 2010-12-13
As stated by others , No menthulated salves such as Tiger Balm or Vicks in the ear ! This makes for more misery , can be used some on the outside . but it is better to use slightly warmed olive oil or eucalyptus (tea tree oil ) these are very healing , and good to use inside the ear .
