It is possible to remove the ink by rubbing it with fingernail polish remover (acetone). Saturate the area with the acetone and use dry cloth to absorb excess fluid.

I had several lines of ballpoint pen on my favorite jeans. I did just what he said, saturate with polish remover and rubbed on it with a washcloth and it all came out!
