Remove splinters with bacon

Place a piece of bacon over the splinter, secure the bacon in place with a piece of string or tape and wait for the splinter to come to the suface.

I have put baking soda w/ water under a bandage and hoping my splinter will come out. I will use the bacon if this method does not work.
