Having retired to Morocco I find people here wash rugs on flat outdoor surface with laundry soap solution & a scrub brush; I washed
flat weave natural fiber rugs with flakes of brown soap well diluted by boiling in water, letting stand
overnight, adding to large bucket of water, then using above technique - either method: rinse well with hose, let dry out of direct sun
