If you add dark eye shadow to the crease of your eye and then feather it out with a brush or your finger it will make your eyes look deep.

I'm sure that the person meant to imply the crease of your eyelid. This tip DOES work fairly well, but depending on how it's done, you can end up looking rather silly when your eyes are closed! It looks "intentional," and intentional looking makeup is a no-no!
