When applying foundation, try using your ring finger (on either hand), because this is your weakest finger, it will allow you to apply foundation with the right amount of pressure so that you're not just wiping it straight off again.

dabbing with your finger may be ok..
but try to avoid using your fingers because the oil on them can mix into your foundation and cause pimples :)
