Use baby oil on cotton wool or a soft cloth for cleaning stainless steel, particularly brushed stainless steel.

Tried this on a brushed stainless soap pump, the finish of which was mottled. It worked - nothing else did. Followed up by using on all my brushed surfaces, and it did a great job! I'm very happy to find this tip.
