Freshly spilled lager on carpets and washable fabrics should come out after being sponged with warm water or squirted from a soda siphon. Shampoo the whole carpet afterwards, or you may end up with a clean patch which is just as conspicuous as a stain. Use methylated spirit on old lager stains.
Soft furnishings and fabrics If normal washing fails, sponge white fabrics with 20-vol strength hydrogen peroxide in a solution of six parts cold water to one of hydrogen peroxide, and colored fabrics with a solution of 30m1 white vinegar in 500m1 cold water.
