Five Stress Relieving Habits
No matter what your day has been like, you most likely just want to unwind at the end of the day. I really want to help you unwind, so that is why this article was created, – to give you stress relieving relaxation that doesn’t have to cost a lot. You might even find that because you like some of these habits so much, you are going to incorporate them into your daily or your weekly routine. When you are thinking about some of these little ideas, think about how you can expand them for your whole family, your routine, or to make your life just that much easier.Â
One of the most important things about relaxing is that you forget about other things. So, the first thing that you can do for yourself, and it doesn’t have to be expensive, is to pick supper up on your way home. It can just be a sandwich or a salad but when you get home and you don’t have to cook and you don’t have to make up your mind about what you are going to have for supper then you are going to be more relaxed from the start.Â
Another great thing that you can do just for yourself, to relieve stress and make you feel more alive at the end of your day is to take a long hot shower or bath! Just you and the water. Turn the music on, let the water beat on your back and take away what ever messed with you during your day. The music that you put on should be your favorite – rock and roll, classical, country, what ever makes you feel good and more alive. You don’t need to relax to music that is going to put your to sleep, just something that makes you tap your toes and sing a tune, that is something that will take the stress of your day away! Inexpensive, private and what a great feeling.Â
Relax your night away by soaking your feet. There are many relaxing and invigorating feelings that you will experience while you are soaking your feet. One of the best things about soaking your feet is that you truly have a reason not to get up! Using hot water, or tepid water as you prefer, you can soak your feet in vinegar with water, baking soda and water, just water, water and marbles, water and oil, water and your favorite bath salts, or you can soak your feet in carbonated water. What ever you choose to do, be sure to make yourself a comfy seat, with a drink of your favorite tea or cool drink and just sit back and relax. Close your eyes and feel your feet as they are soaking, wiggling your toes so you feel free!
Sit back after work and don’t do anything but watch television or movies with your family. Make a light meal of sandwiches, chips, and fruit. Watch a comedy or a favorite of your own, and just put your legs up. What is really relaxing about this is that you don’t have to do anything, you don’t have to run the children anywhere and you don’t have to answer the phone if you don’t want to. This whole idea gives you a break from life, even if you only get to do it for two hours, or just one night a week, your mind beings to unravel and your thoughts can focus on something else besides what bothers you during the day or at your work. Let your time slow down as you take the time out for yourself and your family.Â
One last, yet exciting thing that you can do for yourself, and just for yourself, is to climb into bed with a book or magazine that you love. This could be a book that you have read, one that is new, or just something that you like to read about. The thing about climbing into bed and reading a book that is so exciting is that the words in any book can take you away to a new time, an old time, a place that you want to be or just anywhere that you might have dreamed about. You can fall asleep as you are relaxed or you can continue to work your mind and keep your mind busy as you think about the words that you are reading. You don’t have to face the worries of your day, the hustle and bustle of it all when you are cuddled up with a good book.Â
When using any of these methods to relieve your mind, to give yourself a new outlook on life and to leave that stress behind is what it is all about. You can add candles, scents, favorite drinks, music, and so much more to any of these scenarios to make your life less stressful. Give it a try and you will find that it is a great feeling!
