Stock up on batteries, film and other items you'll need Christmas Day.
In the family car, go on a looking at Christmas lights adventure. Take a thermos full of hot cocoa and bundle up in case you decide to walk a bit.
On the last day of school before Christmas vacation, put red and green balloons on the mailbox to welcome your children home.
Bake cookies with your children to present to the mail carrier, sanitation workers, etc. Have the kids watch for these workers so that they can present the cookies themselves.
