A powerful solvent, derived from petroleum, used to remove nail varnish and grease stains and to thin varnishes. Never use it on acetate fabrics as they dissolve. Nail varnish remover has oil added to it, which may leave a mark on clothes if it is used as a stain remover. Use in a well-ventilated room if thinning varnish.
Alternative
Use acetic acid (white vinegar) or citric acid (lemon juice) for stain removal.
