Most proprietary household contain any number of powerful chemicals, the list includes ethanol, ammonia, formaldehyde and chlorine. Needless to say they are all bad for the environment and lethal to humans if swallowed. If you have such cleaning products in the home use them as rarely as possible and as sparingly as possible. Always keep them on a high shelf or a locked cupboard.
Alternative
Wipe surfaces and floors regularly with soapy water, when cleaning the bathroom use vinegar diluted in warm water. If you have hard water lines, you need to neutralize the alkalinity of the limescale with an acid such as neat vinegar or lemon juice.
As a general rule I prefer cream cleaners to the powdered variety as I will not be breathing in any of the cleaner whilst using.
