Pine tree sap. Tips to remove Pine tree sap stains

Children climbing trees, men working in the woods, and during the holiday seasons you might find yourself faced with a bit of pine tree sap on your clothing.  When you find pine tree sap on your clothes use these tips to work it out.

Using your pre treating spray or stick, be sure to really put a good bit on the stained area. Use your toothbrush to rub the treatment in the stain and apply more if needed.

After you have rubbed this in good, apply a clear liquid detergent over the stained area. Work this into the stained area with your toothbrush and rub the area well breaking down the stain.

If you find that the fabric is too saturated blot it up a bit with a paper towel and keep scrubbing to work out the pine tree sap.

If you have some pine tree sap still in the fabric you can place the fabric stain side down on a towel and apply a few drops of dry cleaning liquid to the pine tree sap area. Let your clothes dry and then you should rinse it out in a sink of cool water.

The stain should be worked out by now, but if you find that you have some stain left in your fabric yet, check the garment for instructions for use of bleach. Use all color fabric bleach or regular bleach on the pine tree sap stain to get that final bit of pine tree sap out. Soaking it in a bucket with cold water added for a few hours, rinse well with water and then launder again for a great clean.
