If
you have found rust on your upholstery don’t despair, you can get out that
rust stain using these easy to use cleaning tips.
It really doesn’t matter how old the stain is, but you will need to first
spray a bit of clear water on the upholstery area, but try not to over wet it
too much. Then dab and blot the rust stained area, bringing out the moisture and
some of the rust at the same time.
Keep doing this as long as you are bringing color out of the upholstery from the
rust. Blot the stained area until it is near dry to touch.
If you still have a rust stain on the upholstery, make a spray of water and a
few drops of detergent. Spray this on the stained area and blot up using a paper
towel. Try not to rub the upholstery too much so you don’t stretch it out.
Rinse the stained area with a clear water spray again. Remove all the suds and
any remaining rust stain in the upholstery. Continue until you don’t see any
more suds coming from the upholstery.
Make a mixture of water and vinegar. A half and half solution will do the trick,
spraying this on the rust stain, and then blotting off you will get all the
final traces coloring from the rust, and the detergent out of the upholstery.
