Milk shakes are a great treat, but sometimes those stains can be tough. Use these cleaning tips to work out that touch milk shake stain. Shakes come in many flavors and colors so be sure to repeat the process that is working best on your shake stain to get all that coloring out of your upholstery.Â
Be sure to soak up as much of the milk shake as you can by using a paper towel or a towel. Try not to spread out the milk shake any further than it already is, pushing the milk shake inwards if need be.Â
No matter if the stain is fresh or old, start out by wetting your cotton ball or paper towel with some rubbing alcohol. Dabbing at the milk shake stain and changing your towel so that you are always using a clean part of it so you don’t leave any more milk shake stain on the upholstery as possible. Continue this until you find that you are not bringing any more of the milk shake out of the upholstery.Â
Apply a few drops of dry cleaning solvent to the milk shake stained area and blot it up with a clean paper towel. Repeat this two or three times, if you are bringing up more of the milk shake or until the stain is gone.Â
Make a solution of water and a few drops of clear bleach free laundry detergent. Spray this on the upholstery milk shake stained area, and blot until you bring out the moisture. Do not rub the area or you could stretch out the upholstery fabric.Â
Rinse the upholstery using a clear water spray, dabbing and blotting to bring out the water, the moisture, and the suds in the upholstery. Be sure to continue rinsing and blotting until you are not bringing any more suds out of the upholstery.Â
Rinse the fabric one last time using a mixture of water and vinegar. Making a half and half solution spraying this on the upholstery and the blotting off will make the deep down milk shake and suds come out.
