Jam. Tips to remove Jam stains on upholstery

Jam is the type of jelly that has fruit chunks and pieces in it. Use these cleaning tips if you have a jam stain in your upholstery.

If you have some jam on the upholstery, try to scrape off as much as you can before starting to clean this stain. Using a butter knife or a spoon will work great. Wet the upholstery using a spray of water, and let this sit for just a bit.

Blot and dab with a clean towel and bring out the moisture from the upholstery, bringing the jam with it. Repeat this as long as you are bringing out the jam from the fabric.

If you still have an jam stain in the upholstery, make a mixture of water and a few drops of clear bleach free detergent. Spray this on the jam stain and blot the moisture out bringing out the jam with the moisture.

Keep changing the portion of your towel so you know if you are still bringing jam out of the upholstery. Rinse the fabric using a spray of clear water, dabbing and blotting the moisture out of the upholstery, bringing with it the jam and the suds from the detergent. Repeat until you aren’t bringing out any more suds from the detergent.

Rinse the upholstery once again using a mixture of water and vinegar. A half and half mixture works great. Spray on the upholstery and blot off bringing any remains of the jam with the moisture.
