Gelatin. Tips to remove Gelatin stains on upholstery

The first thing that you should do if you have a gelatin stain is to scrape off or wipe off the excess gelatin from the upholstery.

Some of the gelatin will stay on top of the upholstery so you can use a paper towel or a spoon and scrape off the excess before tackling that gelatin stain. Spray the gelatin stain with water and dab up the extra moisture. Repeat this until you are not able to bring out any more coloring from the gelatin or until your gelatin stain is gone.

If you find that you still have a stain, make a mixture of water and clear bleach free detergent and spray the stain. Blot and dab the water out, continuing as long as you are bringing out more of that gelatin stain. Rinse the upholstery well using just water. Spray the water on and then dab and blot to take out the moisture.

Continue this until you are not bringing any more suds out from the upholstery. Rinse your upholstery gelatin stain one more time with a solution of vinegar and water.

Using a half and half solution sprayed on and then blotted off is going to leave your upholstery clean and gelatin stain free!
