Furniture Polish. Tips to remove Furniture Polish stains on upholstery
Furniture polish is bound to get on your upholstery at one time or another as you go through and clean or dust your home. You can get furniture polish stains out using these cleaning tips. If you have spilled a lot of the polish on your upholstery, you will first need to blot up or dab out as much of the polish stain as you can so you are left with a stain in the upholstery that you can start to work out. Using a few drops of dry cleaning fluid, apply to the stained area and then blot dry. Try not to push the fabric too much, not to stretch out the upholstery. Repeat as long as you are bringing additional coloring out the upholstery from the furniture polish. Using a cotton ball or paper towel wet with alcohol, dab the stained area and then use another clean paper towel and absorb the liquid from the upholstery. Repeat as long as you find you are bringing out any coloring from the upholstery. Be sure to rinse the upholstery well, using a clear water spray, dabbing off the excess moisture. Repeat if you find that you are bringing out more of the furniture polish, or until you have taken all of the stain out of the upholstery. Rinse the upholstery one last time with a mixture of vinegar and water. Using a half and half solution will bring out any remaining oil from the furniture polish while cleaning the upholstery good as well. Be sure to continue blotting the upholstery until it is about dry to the touch.
