Elmer’s Glue. Tips to remove Elmer’s Glue stains
Elmer’s glue is one of the stains that can make your upholstery very unsightly. If you have found a glue stain on your upholstery, use these cleaning tips to get rid of that sticky glue mess. If the stain is fresh take the time to scoop off the excess liquid glue, using a spoon or a paper towel to sop up the glue mess. If the stain is dry, use your spoon to scrape off or lift off as much of the excess as you can without pulling too much on the upholstery. First you will need to make a mixture of water and vinegar. A half and half mixture sprayed over the stained area and blotted with a paper towel is going to loosen and bring up more of that stained area.Keep repeating until you have brought out all the stain, or if you don’t see anymore of the stain lifting off the upholstery. Rinse the upholstery good with a clear water spray, and dab and blot the stained wet area until you have brought out all the moisture. If you see that the stain is still on the upholstery, make a mixture of water and bleach free liquid detergent.Spray this on the stained area, blotting to bring out the moisture. Rinse the fabric with a clear water mixture to bring out all the suds that remain deep in the upholstery.
