Fruit sodas. Tips to remove Fruit sodas stains on upholstery
When fruit soda has been spilled on your upholstery, the first thing that you should do is blot up the excess liquid if the spill is still wet. Sometimes with stain resistant upholstery, the liquids will almost, ‘sit’ on top of the fabric, but if you wait too long it will sink into the upholstery. If the fruit soda is dried, spraying the stained area with a few sprays of water will enable you to work out that stain while dabbing at the now moist area. Keep dabbing at the stained area with a clean towel until you are not bringing any more stain colors out of the upholstery. Continue to wet and blot the fabric, so that you can work out that stain in the upholstery.Just dabbing the area will dry out the upholstery. If the fruit soda stain still is visible in the upholstery, add a few drops of clear, bleach free detergent to the water.Re spray the upholstery and then dab and blot it clean.Repeat this until the stain is gone or until you are not bringing out any more of the stain. Rinse the upholstery well, using just a spray of water and a clean towel.Continue until you are not bringing any additional suds out of the upholstery. After rinsing the upholstery well with the water, dab until the moisture is all out of the upholstery, almost dry to the touch. Try not to rub the stained area too much so you don’t stretch out the fabric. Give your upholstery one final rinsing with a half and half mixture of water and vinegar. White vinegar mixed in water. Dry the upholstery well and repeat if needed to lift out any deep stains from the fruit soda.
