Fabric Softener. Tips to remove Fabric Softener stains

Sometimes adding fabric softener to your laundry can leave stains when it is not diluted properly, or when you spill some on fabrics without water being added. If you have already dried this fabric after the fabric softener has stained the item, you may not be able to get the stain out.  If you haven’t already dried the fabric in the dryer, you can still work out that stain.

Use a bucket of cold water and dilute a cup of bleach to soak your item for about ten minutes.  Be sure to check the fabric tag, if it will handle the bleach mixture.

Another method you can use to get rid of these fabric softener stains is to use a bar of ivory soap and rub over the area where the stain is.

Rinse the fabric and then repeat if the stain is not completely gone.

Doesn't help. Most don't notice stain until after it's dried.

What do we do AFTER it's been dried Comments By: Lindsey on 2005-04-04
I agree, no one notices the stain until after it's been dried and they're folding the item...what do we do at THIS point?

My top has circle stains all over it. I did not dry it and washed it again to no avail. New top, 1st time washed. It can't be worn this way.
