Urine Pee. Tips to remove Urine Pee stains on carpets

If you have found a urine or pee stain on your carpeting, use these great tips for working it out so you don’t have any stain left in your carpeting.

The first thing that you should do is to blot up any excess liquid. Taking clean paper towels or rags, get up as much of the liquid that you can without pushing the stain out further. Push the liquid inward if you think you are making the stain bigger by blotting it at first.

You will need to neutralize the urine in the carpeting. You can do this using a mixture of two cups of water and a cup of ammonia, or you can use two cups of water and a cup of vinegar. Spray the mixture on and blot it off. Continue doing this over the entire area, and then redo it again if you find that your clean towel turns very yellow when cleaning the urine stained area.

To clean the urine stained area further, make a mixture of two cups of water and two tablespoons of clean bleach free dish liquid. Spray this on the area and dab it up with a paper towel or a clean rag. Do not rub the carpeting or you could make your carpeting look more fuzzy and frayed when you are finished. Repeat over the entire area.

Rinse the carpeting using warm water and a clean cloth or towel. Spray the water on and dab off with the clean towel until you find that you have brought out all the suds. If your carpeting is too wet, use a wet dry vac to bring out the excess moisture.

Let the urine stained area alone and dry for at least an hour. You should find that your area is clean and stain free. If you find that you have additional color in the carpeting, spray on peroxide. Let this sit for about half an hour, spray again and dab up. Repeat as needed until the entire stain is gone.
