Toner Granite. Tips to remove Toner Granite stains on carpets

More and more home offices are appearing through out the world and along with that copiers are being used more often in the home office. If you happen to change your toner cartridge and spill a bit of toner or graphite on your carpet use this tip to get all of this dark mess out of your carpeting.

The first thing that you should do when you spill any amount of toner or graphite on the carpeting it to run the vacuum over this stained area. The vacuum is going to pick up any loose pieces that are not ground in. Depending on your preference, you can call a professional cleaner or you can try these tips first.

If you have spilled a very large amount of toner or granite, use a plastic knife and a paper plate to scrape up and remove as much of the toner as possible. Loosing any granite or toner in the carpet and vacuuming it up will help control the stain area as well.

Using a paper towel or a cloth apply a bit of rubbing alcohol to the cloth and dab on the stained area. Do not pour the rubbing alcohol on the carpet just dab at the stain with your cloth or towel. Repeat until you are not bringing up any more coloring onto your towel or cloth.

If you have some stain still left in your carpet, use a spray mixture of a cup of water and a tablespoon of dish liquid. Spray the area and blot; do not rub the area, just dab with your cloth or towel. Repeat this process until you are not bringing any more granite or toner up onto your cloth.

Rinse the stained area using clear water and blotting up the moisture to bring out the soap and any further loose toner or granite in the carpet. Allow this to dry for about half an hour or an hour to see if your stain is really gone.

Any remnants of stain in your carpet use a spray bottle and a mixture of one cup of water and a 1/3-cup of peroxide. Spray this over the toner or granite stain and blot up, do this about three times and then spray the mixture on the stained area and let it sit for about an hour until it is almost dry. Using a clear water, spray, and blot until you are removed any final stains.
