Hair dye is used by many people both young and old, and it can easily be spilled or squirted onto the carpet when you are using it. Reach for a towel or spatula and scrape up what you can if it is lying on the top of the carpet. Adding water to dilute the stain may save the area from becoming discolored it you act fast, but at the same time, you could be pushing the stain out further.
Hair dye is going to stain your carpet and discolor the carpeting – if you find that you have a large stain in a noticeable area you may have to have that portion of the carpet replaced.
