DIY Tips Thaw frozen water pipes

Water pipes are known to freeze over the cold winter months. If your water pipes are frozen NEVER use a blow torch, as your pipes will explode or crack. You should use a few hot water bottles, replacing them as needed to thaw out pipes safely with out cracking them. NEVER use any type of flamable heater under your home or in the basement to thaw pipes. An oil filled radiator would be a safe alternative to thawing pipes during the cold winter months.

THE MOST SENSIBLE, INEXPENSIVE AND SURE FIRE METHODS USED IS 100% SUCCESSFUL. YOU LOCATE AND HOPEFULLY ACQUIRE OWNERSHIP OF A UNIT CALLED "A WALLPAPER STEAMER". THIS APPLIANCE IS ABOUT THE SIZE OF A NORMAL FOUR (4) SLICE HOUSEHOLD TOASTER. YOU PUT TAP WATER INTO THE RESERVOIR, SWITCH IT ON, AND IN NO TIME IT PRODUCES LARGE VOLUMES OF HIGHLY PRESSURED STEAM. THE EXIT ORIFACE HAS A 3/8" RUBBER HOSE ATTACHED, WHICH CAN BE UP TO 100' IN LENGTH. YOU SIMPLY FEET THE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF HOSE INTO THE FROZEN PIPE, ADVANCING SAME AS THE ICE BLOCKAGE MELTS. THE RESULTING LIQUID GRADUALLY MOVES TOWARDS YOUR POINT OF ENTRY, AND WHEN THE ICE IS ALL GONE, THE WATER BACKED UP BY THE FREEZING, FLOWS THROUGH AND OUT OF THE SYSTEM. SIMPLY RE-ATTACHED THE PIPES AT THE POINT WHERE YOU WERE WORKING AND THE BLOCKAGE IS OVERCOME. REPEAT, WHEN, IF AND WHEREVER MORE ICE BLOCKAGES RE-OCCUR.
