To clean your Iron's Hot Plate use Eagel One NEVR-DULL Wadding Polish found in the Automotive department. This worked much faster than the vinegar & salt method.

use a HOT iron on a bed of salt....2 minutes clean!!! Best and cheapest method

I tried the salt on paper bag 3x it didn't work at all,the vinegar method did!!
