Vinegar for detergent Stains

To remove the detergent stains on your clothing, try soaking them in undiluted white vinegar until the spots disappear - at least 15 minutes, but no more than 30. (Vinegar is excellent at dissolving soap residue).

Launder as usual, and don´t worry, any vinegar smell will wash right out. If this doesn´t work, you could try wetting the stains, and rubbing them with a liquid dish detergent designed to remove grease.

I just got back from a weeks holiday. Before I went I bought a lot of new clothes. When returning I washed them in my new washing machine. I noticed as the clothes were drying there were huge white patches all over every item of clothing. It was where the washing powder had not dissolved. I tried everything to remove it, from rewashing without washing powder, extra rinse. Nothing worked. I even phoned the washing Powder Company to see if they could recommend something and their answer was ‘there’s nothing you can do’. In despair I looked on the internet and found this information. I bought several bottles of white vinegar and followed the instructions listed and it worked. I am so grateful, my clothes are saved. Again a BIG THANKYOU.
