White Out Correction Fluid stains

Submitted by simon

You should be able to remove a White Out stain by using paint thinner or isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Be sure to test on the item in a non-visible area before using.

I tried to remove white out from my hands with rubbing alcohol and polish remover and it didn't work so I will have to buy paint thinner..... thanks

Paint thinner worked extremely well. Much better than scrubbing your skin until it comes off.

Neither alcohol, nor Turpentine worked on dried White-Out stain.

Forget nail polish remover or alcohol! Comments By: Anarchy on 2008-09-09
WD-40 IS THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED!!!!! The stain was a lg. amt of white-out THAT was spilled on my Dining room table's protective "leaves"
...plastic on one side/felt on other. No harm was done! to "leave"!

WD-40 WORKS!!! Comments By: Laura on 2008-10-12
I had a huge white out stain on my desk and wood floor. WD-40 worked great removing my enormous white puddles. It wook some time to get it all gone because it was quite thick but it was rather easy

WD-40 WORKED BEAUTIFULLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Comments By: fas on 2008-10-31
Half a bottle of whiteout spilled on wood table and came right off with a few sprays of WD 40. I couldn't believe it worked.

This has got to be the best product ever. Not always easy to find but it removes dried white out. The labels on my daughter's wedding dvds were corrected and before it dried someone stacked them on top of each other. I was horrified. Just like magic it removed it. No harm done even when I had to wipe the dvd.

Whiteout on FELT HAT!! Comments By: Claire on 2010-10-12
A school girl prank left whiteout on my daughter's felt school hat. I didn't have any WD-40, so used INOX, the equivalent. MAGIC! I could not believe how quickly the stain came out!

Removing White-out from Wood,. Wool etc. Comments By: Anon on 2010-10-26
I shook the bottle and the top was loose - White-Out everywhere, on my wood table, my sweater, placemat and my hands. So I checked the computer and found out that WD40 would do the trick - with my husband's help it worked. Amazing.
