Is your soup or stew too Salty?
Add wedges of raw potatoes or apple to reduce saltiness in soups or stews. Remove wedges after cooking along with the stew for about 10 minutes. Top.

Or you could add a little sugar to counter the saltiness. Some people recommend adding a teaspoon of cider vinegar or a teaspoon of sugar to have the same effect. Top.

Is your soup or stew too sweet?
If your soup or stew turns out to be too sweet, try adding a little salt or a teaspoon of cider vinegar.

Is your soup or stew too Greasy?
To remove excess fat from soups and stews, toss in a lettuce leaf. It will absorb a lot of the fat and can then be thrown away.

Is your soup or stew too Fatty?
Another way to remove excess fat is to toss in a few ice cubes. Stir them around and you should find the fat will stick to the cubes. Remove them and the fat along with them.
