My wife and I like to go on day trips and hikes. Here is a trick I learned in Florence Italy to keep drinking water cold all day without refrigeration. Place a full bottle of water and a half full bottle of water in the freezer and freeze both solid. When you're about to leave for the day, fill the half full frozen bottle full with cold water. Bring both bottles and drink this one that's half frozen first. By the time you finish the first one, the second bottle will start to melt giving you more nice cold drinking water!
