I am a nurse with nothing but praise for homeopathic treatments that can heal whatever the affliction may be without the addition of Western medicine's input (not always possible but worth using as a first line of defense in my opinion). My dog has been tormented by ear mites and a web search revealed that mineral oil succeeds in killing those nasty critters so tonight I decided to initiate earmiteocide.
Unfortunately, mineral oil is not a staple in my house but I located a natural ingredient ear ache remedy containing glycerin. Unsure if the glycerin could effectively substitute for the mineral oil, I discovered that no, it has different chemical properties and I continued searching for a solution. I learned that olive oil (as well as a few other oils) perform the same function and thus, my pooch will obtain some relief beginning tonight and ultimately be free from bugs in his ears.
I came across this site during my quest for answers and thought someone out there might find my information useful. Sweet dreams to all.
